I've been in the travel industry for almost 11 years. I have been through a lot since joining the industry. It's surprising I've stayed this long since I seem to have missed out on the 'Golden Years' where FREE was everywhere you turned and customers had no other way to book. Sometimes I'm glad I wasn't around at that time. I would probably be as disappointed with the current PERKS as my co-workers who are nearning their own 'Golden Years'. Instead, I love what I do. I still get excited about talking about destinations. I currently manage the marketing department, but I was an agent for six years. I still love to tell friends and family about my favorite places in the world, and what to do when they get there. It's in my blood and I can't see working anywhere else.
However, I do see the industry changing before my eyes and I am desperate to stay ahead of the game. I started this blog so that those of us selling the world of travel can work together and to help each other. I'd love to cover topics like, marketing, advertising, vendor relations, event mangement, customer relationship management, top destinations, niche marketing, e-commerce, the list goes on...
